Say 'No' to Hollywood hair!

It was slightly odd coming across a news article that the Iranian government was: cracking down on expressive hairstylesmen’s hairstyles, that is. The Daily Mail reports that the country’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance is creating a catalog of acceptable hairdos for this month’s Modesty and Veil Festival. Among the new regulations, no long hair or ponytails, no mandatory beard and a bit of gel is okay.

But now, it seems New York cab drivers are just as prone to Big Brother’s mood swings. Reuters reports that: “New York City’s cabdrivers will be subject to a new dress code, the Taxi and Limousine Commission said on Friday. The regulations will instructing cabbies to “present a professional appearance,” said David Yassky, TLC commissioner.”

“It will also have the positive effect of reminding drivers that, in a customer service-oriented industry, there are professional standards that have to be met,” Yassky said.
