Croatia is already a popular destination for summer holidays – but these stunning pictures of frozen waterfalls may just tempt you to a winter visit.

Situated between the coast and the capital, Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes national park is on the wishlist for many warm weather visitors.

A UNESCO world heritage site since 1979, it is made up of 16 interlinked lakes surrounded by forest.
