World’s Most Expensive Diamond

The 24.78 carat stone was bought by British billionaire Laurence Graff, 72, who described it as the “most fabulous” diamond he had seen in his entire career. The gem, which has been classed as “potentially flawless” putting it among the top two per cent in terms of quality, is the most expensive diamond and the most expensive piece of jewellery, ever sold at auction. Its price, which included a 12 per cent buyers’ premium, was almost double the previous record of £15.3 million for a diamond.
