Men who grow up with lots of sisters are less sexy, a study suggests.

Having a large number of female siblings makes men no less heterosexual but their mannerisms and body language may be seen as less butch than those who have been brought up amid the rough and tumble of a male dominated household.

Researchers discovered the ratio of male and females within a family growing up together can influence the sexual behaviour, rather than the sexuality, of a boy who is outnumbered. Genes may determine personality and behaviour but the environment during early life “shapes it” said the study published in the journal Psychological Science.

Interesting article. I would see how men who grew up around a more masculine surrounding might come off as being more manly or “sexy”, however I do believe that being brought up around women teaches men how to respect women and treat them right.

So which “man” do women prefer? In my opinion, it ultimately all comes down to what women looking for at that point in time:
    – man who grew up around men = short term
    – man who grew up around women = long term

    Could that formula work?

I don’t think there is a “formula” per se, but I think your surroundings, especially when you are young, have a greater influence on your personality than when you have actually grown.
